Team_Soul_Master wrote:Hello everyone,

Just to clarify on a few commonly asked questions:

1. When can I download the game client?

The client is available for download as of Tuesday 7/20 PDT, aka now!

2. How do I download the game client?

Just click "Client Download" either at the top of the Soul Master landing page or at the top of the forums.

From
there simply click the grey "Client Download" button, or select one of
the available mirror sites which will be added as their download pages
go live.

3. My AVG anti-virus says it detects a harmful file called Themida when installing, what's going on?

AVG
often has issues properly identifying GameGuard files. Nprotect
(GameGuard) is contacting AVG regarding the matter, and will resolve its
incorrectly showing up for AVG users. If any non-AVG user has a similar
issue please let us know, so we may inform Nprotect to contact them as
well.

Themida is a program used for executable compression to
help reduce storage space, speed up the time and lessen the bandwidth
required to access software online, and also serves to improve file
encryption and security.

Currently AVG, and AVG specifically, is
identifying smc.exe as a false-positive and we have already been in
contact with both them and nProtect (GameGuard) to stop it from doing
so.

If it's causing issues with installation, please try the following (thanks to Tr4ace for the post):

Open AVG, then go to ''Tools'' and choose ''Advanced Settings''.

Next, look for ''Excluded files'' (It might say Exceptions instead) on the left and click it once.
Next click on ''Add'' on the right and it will allow you to choose which file you want to exclude.

In the window it brings up click on ''Computer'', then choose the
''C:''
drive and look for the ''Games Campus'' folder and double click it.
Double click the ''Soul Masters'' folder and look for ''smc'', click it
once then choose the ''Open'' option at the bottom.

After that click ''Apply'', and ''Ok'' and try updating again.

4. I get an error that says "smc.exe has encountered a problem" when I try to start the game, what's going on?

If
you haven't recently, be sure to patch. You also need to have the
DirectX files which accompanied the installer, so make sure that box
is/was checked when installing the game.

If you still have any
problems getting to the login screen after patching and clicking "Game
Start", please install one of the Winows Components Packages listed
below as your computer may not have something necessary in order to run
the game, and it'll vary from person to person. Please check your
Windows’ version and language before you choose the link in order to
download a suitable version of components (make sure to check your
Windows whether it is 32bit or 64bit).

For 32bit Windows:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

For 64bit Windows:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) ==> 64bit
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

Once again, if you have an issue getting to the login screen:

1. Patch to get the client update and see if you can get to the login screen (no one can go further until 11am PDT)

2. If you have an issue the first step is to make sure that you installed DirectX when installing the game client

3.
If you have a problem getting to the loading screen after clicking
"Game Start", download the Windows Component Packages above

4. If
you have a resolution such as 1366x768 (wide) and are having an issue
with the screen turning white when starting the game please try changing
your screen's resolution temporarily until you can get into the game
and select a more compatible one.

5. If you still have a problem after following these steps please post here:

viewtopic.php?f=267&t=60729

We'll keep at it in the meantime.
